Well worth the price of one lesson!!!!!An excellent book showing how to build a solid foundation walking bass line through harmonic progressions.I've only started this book, but am going through it very slowly so as to completely absorb each idea before moving on to the next.Fuqua STRONGLY emphasizes HEARING what is going on and learning so completely that you can get your mind out of the way on an intellectual level and actually PLAY what you wish to express.I am using this book to get past reading chord charts and spontaneously play along with any song/harmonic progression "on the fly". I have done a lot of transcription of melodies and found that tactic to be of not much help. My goal is to hear CHANGES and react musically.
