It does the job very well.I purchased this dvd/book for the songs listed in the advertisement. It was great instruction but false advertising to me. It also appears like a lot of information was edited out. It is not a bad dvd/book but it had the potential to be great maybe on the follow up dvd/book I am sure they have planned but if you are beyond the beginner stage or unless you simply want some exposure to r&b funk I would look elsewhere.Some of the plus' Female bass teacher to motivate the women have not seen a female bass player teaching since carol kaye :) they cover the examples in the book very well at various speeds and they seem to catch the genre they are discussing very well.Some of the minus' the songs listed in the ad are not covered except for a line from the main groove and it seems like the dvd was edited heavily and is only 40 minutes long.
